ANANGKWE

2021 commission. Anangkwe is a 9 colour hand pulled screen print, which includes a split fountain layer, printed on 300 gsm mute white paper.

The piece commemorates an Indigenous naming ceremony for which the individual was given the name Anangkwe or Star Woman. Included in the piece are the spirit and dancing colours given by the Elder. References to the ancestral relationship to Sturgeon clan are also a prominent feature in the piece.
